Production Department Specialized Training: The Complete Steel Structure Production Process  

To further improve the professional quality of the business team and facilitate the efficient advancement of orders, the Production Department recently organized a special training on the detailed explanation of the entire steel structure production process. All colleagues from the Business Department participated in this training to jointly master the key points of the production links and lay a solid professional foundation for business connection.

The core goal of this training is very clear: to help colleagues in the Business Department fully familiarize themselves with the production processes of the processing plant and the core points of each link, accurately grasp the entire production process, improve their professional level, and better connect orders and promote cooperation.

At the training site, the person in charge of the Production Department focused on the entire steel structure production process, disassembled the six core links one by one in accordance with the actual production sequence of the factory, and focused on explaining the technical points and operating specifications of each link, helping business colleagues fully grasp the core logic of production and clarify the connection and key points of each link.

Raw Material Procurement and Inspection 

Raw materials are the core of the quality of steel structure products and the basic premise of the production link. Our raw materials include steel such as H-beams, channel steel, and steel plates, as well as various accessories such as bolts and connectors. The procurement channels are all from well-known domestic steel mills and regular suppliers to ensure stable quality from the source.

After all raw materials arrive at the factory, they will be strictly inspected in accordance with national standards, including material testing and dimensional rechecking. A detailed inspection report will be issued for each batch of raw materials to ensure that the raw materials put into production meet the production standards.

Cutting 

Cutting is the first step in production. Its core is to cut raw materials into the required size and shape according to the order drawings. The factory mainly adopts two mainstream cutting processes: laser cutting and flame cutting. The two processes have their own focuses. Business colleagues need to accurately distinguish them and fully grasp the application scenarios and core characteristics of the two processes.

• Laser Cutting: Its advantages are fast cutting speed, high precision, flat surface, and low subsequent processing difficulty, which is suitable for steel with a thickness of ≤20mm;

• Slitting: Suitable for steel with a thickness of ＞20mm (such as large steel beams and columns), but the cutting speed is relatively slow, the precision is slightly lower, and the cutting difficulty of special-shaped components will increase.

Processing and Forming

Processing and forming is the core link of steel structure production, covering processes such as assembly welding, drilling, and bending. It directly determines the final quality and specifications of the product and is the key content of the training. Business colleagues need to focus on mastering the operating specifications and quality requirements of each process.

• Assembly: Strictly align, level, and correct according to the drawings, control the deviation of the straightness and perpendicularity of the components, and prohibit forced assembly, which is the premise to ensure the quality of the finished product. It is necessary to clarify the core standards and taboos of assembly;

• Welding: Two methods are adopted: full welding and segmental welding. The appropriate process is selected according to the force requirements of the components. All welders have received professional training. The welding joints have no defects such as slag inclusion, pores, and cracks, and meet national standards. It is necessary to master the selection basis and quality standards of welding processes;

• Bending and Drilling: Bending precision affects the fit of subsequent assembly. The hole diameter and position of drilling are strictly implemented according to the drawings, and professional equipment is used to ensure precision. It is necessary to clarify the operating requirements and precision standards of the two processes.

Surface Treatment 

Surface treatment is an important link in steel structure production, which directly determines the service life of the product and is also an indispensable process in the production process. We mainly provide a combined scheme of derusting + painting/galvanizing. Business colleagues need to master the process characteristics and application scenarios of different surface treatment methods.

• Grit Blasting: There are two methods: shot blasting (high efficiency, suitable for batch processing) and sandblasting (more refined, suitable for high smoothness requirements). It is necessary to clarify the operating characteristics and applicable situations of the two derusting methods;

• Painting: Low cost, optional colors, suitable for indoor projects or outdoor projects with general anti-corrosion requirements. It is necessary to master the core process and requirements of the painting process;

• Galvanizing: Corrosion-resistant and long service life, suitable for outdoor, coastal and other environments with strong corrosion. It is necessary to understand the advantages and operating specifications of the galvanizing process.

Assembly and Inspection 

This is the last quality line before the product leaves the factory and an important finishing link in the production process. We will assemble the processed, formed and surface-treated components as a whole according to the order drawings, check the assembly precision, and then conduct dimensional rechecking and quality inspection (welding re-inspection, surface treatment inspection, etc.). All inspections are in line with international standards, and a detailed inspection report will be issued for qualified products.

Packaging 

Packaging is the last link in the production process, which is directly related to the integrity of the product. Business colleagues need to master the principles, methods and outbound processes of packaging, and clarify the application scenarios of different packaging methods. We follow the principles of waterproof, moisture-proof and rust-proof, and provide three packaging schemes according to the product type and transportation method:

• Nude Packaging: Suitable for large components, only apply anti-rust oil, suitable for sea and land transportation. It is necessary to clarify the scope of application and operating specifications of nude packaging;

• Packaging Film Wrapping: Suitable for small and medium-sized components, waterproof and moisture-proof. It is necessary to master the operating requirements of packaging film wrapping;

• Wooden Case Packaging: Suitable for small accessories and precision components, waterproof and anti-collision. It is necessary to understand the standards and applicable situations of wooden case packaging.

At the end of the training, the person in charge of the Production Department systematically sorted out each link of the entire production process, helping business colleagues sort out the process logic, strengthen the key memory of each link, and clarify the connection points of each process:

Raw Material Procurement and Inspection → Cutting → Processing and Forming → Surface Treatment → Assembly and Inspection → Packaging and Outbound. Each link is interlocking, and the quality and standard of each process directly affect the final delivery effect of the product.

At the same time, it was emphasized that business colleagues need to proficiently master the technical points, operating specifications and quality standards of the entire process, clarify the core requirements of each link, apply the learned knowledge to daily work, and improve their professional quality.

In the interactive Q&A session, colleagues from the Business Department exchanged views on issues such as process selection, process connection, and quality control based on the production-related questions encountered in daily work. The person in charge of the Production Department answered each question combined with specific production cases to ensure that everyone fully understood the knowledge points and could apply them in practice.

This training helped colleagues in the Business Department fully master the technical points, operating specifications and process logic of the entire steel structure production process, and further improved the professionalism of the business team.
